Aleph Alpha launches PhariaAI for enterprise deployments

PhariaAI brings model development, evaluation, and cloud or on-premises deployment into one enterprise offering.

By Chat Overview Published Updated

Aleph Alpha launched PhariaAI, a platform for developing and running AI applications in businesses and public institutions. The offering combines model adaptation, evaluation, and deployment tools with a choice of commercial and weight-available models.

Cloud and on-premises options

PhariaAI supports applications in a customer's own data center as well as cloud deployment. Its hybrid approach allows workloads to be divided between those environments. The launch included templates for document questions, summaries, translation, and transcription.

This puts the emphasis on operating applications around an organization's data, rather than simply offering a general-purpose chat page.

Two accompanying model releases

Aleph Alpha also released two seven-billion-parameter Pharia-1 models, including an aligned variant with additional safeguards. Their weights and training code were made available for noncommercial research and education under the Open Aleph License. That permission is narrower than unrestricted commercial use. The Aleph Alpha profile covers the company's enterprise products and access routes.
