Cursor 1.0 adds Bugbot and expands background agents
The editor adds pull-request review, wider remote-agent access, notebook editing, and easier tool connections.
Cursor released version 1.0 with Bugbot for reviewing pull requests and wider access to its background coding agent. The update extends its workflow beyond writing code inside the editor.
Review and remote work
Bugbot adds review comments to GitHub pull requests and provides a link back to Cursor to work on an issue. Background Agent runs coding tasks remotely, letting work continue outside the active editor session. At this release, background-agent access required Privacy Mode to be disabled; support for accounts using that mode was still planned.
More tools inside the editor
The release also added:
- Agent editing across cells in Jupyter notebooks, initially with Sonnet models.
- One-click installation and authentication for supported Model Context Protocol servers.
- Project memories in beta, with controls in settings.
The Cursor profile describes the editor, agent workflows, and the plans used to access them.
