Deepgram brings Flux voice recognition to ten languages
Flux Multilingual adds live language switching and conversation-aware recognition through cloud or self-hosted deployment.
Deepgram made Flux Multilingual generally available on April 29, 2026. The release expanded its conversation-oriented speech recognition from English to ten languages.
Language changes within a conversation
Flux Multilingual detected and switched languages during a live conversation. The model combined transcription with turn detection, helping a voice agent decide when a person had finished speaking or interrupted a reply.
This reduced the need to assemble separate language-detection and routing stages around a transcription service. The update was aimed at voice agents rather than only producing a transcript after a recording ended.
Cloud and self-hosted access
The release was available through Deepgram's cloud API or a self-hosted deployment. The announcement included European endpoints, SDK support, and compatibility with existing Flux API integrations.
It widened the deployment choices for multilingual voice applications without limiting them to a single hosted endpoint.
