Exa introduces Websets for building lists from web research
Websets turns a plain-language search into a researched list of people, companies, or other matching results.
Exa announced Websets, a research product for finding lists of people, companies, and other entities on the web. The launch opened a waitlist for searches described in plain language.
Search for a set of results
Instead of starting with individual web pages, a query describes the kind of entries needed in a list. Examples include companies working in a particular market or candidates with a particular professional background. Exa's system searches for matching entries and checks them against the requested criteria.
This gives the product a different purpose from a quick lookup: building a dataset for research, sourcing, or prospect discovery.
Research alongside the search API
Websets adds a research interface alongside Exa's existing search services for applications. A well-defined description of the desired results is still central to the work, especially when several conditions must be satisfied. The Exa profile covers search, page retrieval, and its developer access routes.
