Render opens Workflows beta for long-running background tasks
Python and TypeScript tasks can run as managed workflows with queuing, retries, state handling, and shared logs.
Render opened the public beta of Workflows, a service for chaining long-running tasks defined in TypeScript or Python. It is aimed at agent logic, data pipelines, and other background processes that involve several stages.
Define the work in application code
Task definitions are deployed as a Workflow service. Runs can be started from an application, the application programming interface (API), or the dashboard. Render handles queuing, retries, state management, and parallel execution around those tasks.
This gives a background process its own managed execution path instead of tying every step to a single web request.
Inspect the whole run
Workflows use Render's private network and bring logs and metrics together for inspection. The beta starts with software development kits for TypeScript and Python. The Render profile covers its application hosting and background-work services.
