Codeium (now Devin Desktop)

Codeium began as a coding assistant and later became Windsurf. The current desktop product is Devin Desktop, an integrated development environment (IDE) for working with local and cloud agents. Older extensions, tutorials, and account pages may still use the earlier names.

How pricing works

Current Devin plans combine subscription tiers, agent quotas, and optional additional usage. Team plans also account for developer seats. Follow the current setup guide rather than an old Codeium tutorial when installing the editor or choosing a plan.

Comparing coding tools

Cursor is another editor-centered option, while GitHub Copilot adds coding assistance to supported editors and GitHub workflows. Codeium and Windsurf are earlier names for the desktop product. For a cloud agent that takes on delegated tasks, compare its hosted environment, task controls, and usage charges alongside the editor's features.
