Moonshot AI / Kimi
Kimi models and applications from Moonshot AI, with a separate developer API.
- Models for coding, reasoning, and multimodal tasks
- Streaming, tool calls, and supported client protocols
- API token billing separate from application plans
Moonshot AI develops Kimi models and provides both end-user applications and a developer platform. Applications use the Kimi API for tasks such as coding, document processing, and multimodal conversations.
Using the API
Model selection determines supported inputs, context limits, and available tools. The platform documents streaming and tool calling as well as client-compatible API formats. Request, token, and concurrency limits still apply to the chosen account.
How pricing works
API inference separates input and output token charges, with caching rates where supported. Document text passed into a model counts toward the model input. A Kimi application subscription does not establish an API allowance; compare the developer account's billing separately.
